The World Refugee Day 👩‍👩‍👧‍👦 is celebrated every 20th of June to recognise the strength 💪, courage, and resilience ❤️‍🔥 of millions of people who have had to flee their homes due to war, persecution, and violence. This day was established in 2001 by the United Nations General Assembly to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees..

At Women for the Future, we are committed to supporting refugees through employment integration🧑‍💻 and entrepreneurship🧑‍🔧. Through the Senda welcoming programmes, Ens Volem Vivas empowering women who have suffered from gender-based violence, and our entrepreneurship programmes, we provide refugees with the necessary tools to rebuild their lives with dignity and economic independence.

We share through this post the story of Katerine, a Colombian woman who migrated to escape violence and has been recognised as a refugee by the Spanish state. At Dones pel Futur, through the Senda programme, we have accompanied her in the long and complicated process of obtaining legal residency that allows her to work and train.

If you are a refugee and need guidance to regularise your administrative situation, find employment or start a business, write to us a info@donespelfutur.com. All our programmes are free because they are funded by public and private organisations.
