Recently, we have carried out, within the framework of the Ens Volem Vives programme, aimed at the economic empowerment of women who have suffered from gender-based violence, the first workshop on the detection of economic violence directed at workers and technicians from public and private entities that work with women. Let us remember that the Catalan law against gender-based violence (17/2020) recognises economic violence as one of the 8 forms of gender-based violence that women experience.
This training is part of the agreement we have signed with the Nantik Lum foundation and its programme on economic violence, funded by the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and the 2030 Agenda, aimed at raising awareness among the population about this scourge. From Ens Volem Vives, we seek to highlight the economic violence that women suffer in their homes and how this violence affects their freedom and economic independence.
During the workshop, dynamics were carried out for the detection of economic violence, and our colleague Lourdes González-celma provided an introduction to financial health as a key tool to combat these violences.
